Thanks to the consumerization of IT, the world of enterprise mobility management has gone through huge changes within the last five years. Some issues have been solved—thanks to the opening of management APIs in mobile operating systems, iOS and Android devices can now be controlled just as tightly as BlackBerrys—while other questions continue to spark fierce debate. Is it necessary to manage entire devices, or does mobile data management and application-level security remove the need for device-level management? And how should BYOD scenarios be handled? Jack Madden has been digging into these issues since the launch of ConsumerizeIT.com last year. This session will provide insight on how various mobile technologies work as well as strategies for dealing with both corporate and personal device. Jack will also examine and compare specialty “split-personality” solutions.
