thoughts on day 1...

Congrats to Brian and the team for putting together this event. We appreciate the format, with the slides and video presentations on-line allowing us to check out all the sessions - this should make it all the more worth while.

But, pity it’s not been possible to have more hands-on opportunities. We've got a number of vendors here, as well as helping finance the event its always useful to be able to look at different products. We're techies – it’d been more useful to have a proper look at their offerings - leave the PowerPoint and leaflets to the bean counters - we'll have the touching and feeling as well as the stress balls and wristbands and pens ;)

There was plenty we took in from Monday that we can take back and work with. But, a techie presenting a technical session doesn't make it a technical presentation. We want to be able to take away was info to reduce our learning curve, not just have a set of slides read out to us. It’s a common fault for techies to come across poorly in a presentation - for lessons on how to do this we think you should check out Ron Oglesby or Rick Macks presentations - good content, informative additional material, well presented.

One final thing - Citrix were noticeable by their absence and we wonder why. There are a number of var guys here who probably attend the citric reseller events but it would have been a useful opportunity for some of us to bend Ctx's ear - then again maybe I answered my own question.

Today was a good indication of what will probably (and should) be an evolving product. We look forward now to day 2.
