Tony Marzulli Leaves Citrix

There have been rumors that Citrix's SVP of Marketing would leave the company at the end of March. While Citrix did not respond to questions asking whether this was true, Marzulli's bio was removed from the Citrix Leadership page last night, indicating that he is most likely no longer with the company.

There have been rumors that Citrix's SVP of Marketing would leave the company at the end of March. While Citrix did not respond to questions asking whether this was true, Marzulli's bio was removed from the Citrix Leadership page last night, indicating that he is most likely no longer with the company. (As of this writing Google's cache still shows the old page with Marzulli present.)

Marzulli was responsible for all aspects of product introduction and marketing for Citrix and partially filled a gap in the leadership team from when CTO Bob Kruger separated from Citrix last July. (The CTO position is still open.)

So now Citrix has no CTO and no SVP of marketing.

What does this mean for the company? Does it indicate anything significant or is it a non-event? Share your thoughts below.

This is not a prank. Citrix confirmed to me today that Tony left the company.

The exodus continues. Who wants to bet this guy ends up at softricity or mercury with the rest of the rest of citrix's former best-and-brightest? And no, thank you, I don't think I need to renew that value-free maintenance contract.

When companies care more about money than Employees and Customers.

Citrix still has a great message and products that are upcoming. The loss of Marzulli will have only a short term impact, as most of the products are pretty well positioned. The only thing slowly creeping in is Longhorn and how Citrix will do the positioning around an improved TS product.

Whats more interesting is why he left as his term was rather short. If you have this info Brian, please share!

I can name nearly a dozen heads of marketing over the last 8 years. I am not kidding. Losing another doesn't mean much. The Citrix train just keeps going and going and going

Remember what happened to Citrix' FIRST head of marketing...he got promoted to president and then to CEO. Maybe that's why they've had trouble ever since filling the void.

Just the fact that Marzulli played an important strategic messaging role at Citrix does make his departure significant.
As for the Citrix train, if it werent for Subscription revenues, it would be motionless...

Keep your eye on the ball...

And then demoted from CEO/President to just President; then Citrix searched for a CEO for a year, and Scott Kinnear said he didn't want Mark back; then after a year Mark came back and Scott "got quit".

Scott was the SVP of Worldwide Engineering, and was one of the people whose backs Citrix was built on. Where is he now?

The reason Tony is gone is Kate is returning...
