There's been a rumor that the next release of Terminal Server will be a "Citrix-killer." Load-balancing. Application publishing. Seamless windows. RDP v6. I even reported it in my blog a month ago. The first "official" word from Redmond that something was up was in Eric Rudder's (Microsoft SVP for Servers and Tools)
speech about the Windows Server roadmap a few weeks ago.
I just found out that the codename of the next version of Terminal Server is Bear Paw, and it will be released as an add-on to Windows Server 2003 (just like Windows SharePoint Services, Rights Management, and about a dozen other add-ons that are planned over the next year or two). No word yet on pricing, packaging, features, or timeframe.
