It's BriForum week in London, let's talk about the Consumerization of IT!

BriForum 2012 London is this week, starting Tuesday night and running through Thursday. While BriForum is traditionally a desktop virtualization conference, more recently we've been talking about the consumerization of IT.

BriForum 2012 London is this week, starting Tuesday night and running through Thursday. While BriForum is traditionally a desktop virtualization conference, more recently we've been talking about the consumerization of IT.

One of the main CoIT sessions from last year's BriForum was Brian's Consumerization of IT session; this is the session that first introduced the concept of FUIT. When it comes to BYOD and BYOC, Claudio Rodrigues presented a great reality check session. (These sessions where given in both London last May and in Chicago in July. The videos here are from Chicago.)

For this year's BriForum, I'll be giving a session on mobile device, information, and application management on Thursday at 8:00am in the Park Suite breakout room. This session is culmination of the BYOD Smackdown, so if you were wondering why there haven't been any posts in that series for about a while, here's the result. I'll be taking an in-depth look at different mobile technologies (MDM, MIM, and MAM) and how recent developments are changing the way the enterprise is delivered to mobile users. The Birds-of-a-feather session, "What Now?" at 3:05pm on Thursday in the Thames Suite breakout room should be an interesting one, too: as we discuss what to do with all the information shared at BriForum, consumerization is sure to play a big role.

During the week we'll also have an opportunity to check out all of consumerization and mobility products and demos from BriForum sponsors. Videos will be posted later this week and next week. (So vendors at BriForum, be prepared to show off your coolest consumerization and mobility-related demos!)

Finally, today happens to be the day the ConsumerizeIT.com is six months old. We have close to 100 pieces of content and we've covered a lot of new territory, but most of all we're excited to see how much more the site will grow in the next six months and beyond. Thank you to all our readers!
