Free Training without leaving your desk: Microsoft TechDays 2009

First of all, this is not an early April Fools joke!

But for 24 hours on April 1st(GMT), Microsoft is hosting a rather large and free event that you can participate in without leaving your desk or home.  The event is primarily aimed at developers, but there are a few other key jems hidden in the sessions.  This is a 24 hour Live Meeting event called TechDays.  Almost 90 in-depth sessions.

Best of all (in my blog, I get to decide what is best.  Get your own blog!) I will be doing a session at 4PM Eastern US Time.  Loosely based on the Briforum 2008 Session I did on "The Data Problem", although this time aimed at the developers.

Back in 2001 at Softricity, Microsoft's Stuart Schaeffer and I discussed how we were building this application virtualization platform (then called SoftGrid, now known as App-V) in part because the developers didn't know how to write applications, and how we should start a campaign to educate the developers.  Uh, we got busy and forgot about all that (Mea culpa).  So finally eight years later I am finally getting around to it.

Uh, you can get prizes for attending like 50% of a MS Cert exam, and Second Shot on cert exams (and not just developer ones) and MSDN subscriptions.

See http://www.msfttechdays.com/public/home.aspx for more information.

Just an update after the event.  Microsoft recorded all of the TechDays presentations.  You can still go to the site and register to view the presentations for free.
