Most peoples' first experience with Doug Brown was by downloading his "MetaFrame Methodology-in-a-Box," a 1000-page eBook that walked you through the installation and configuration of all of the Citrix MetaFrame components back in the day. And since then Doug's been busy with DABCC.com, podcasting and recording videos like crazy.
Last week Doug released his latest project: The Official Guide to Citrix XenClient 1.0 Service Pack 1, Reference Design, Best Practices, and Additional Resources. This is a 50-page guide to XenClient, and reading it reminds me of the old MIAB stuff. There's a lot of stuff that's sort of instructional in here.. "Do this, then this, then this..." But there's a lot in there that also pretty obviously comes from Doug's direct experience from using and playing with XenClient.. A lot of tips that you know come from Doug banging his head on the desk.
So overall this is good stuff! A great document that's worth reading. (Even if you're not planning on using or deploying XenClient, it gives you a lot of the "feel" of the experience of having used it yourself.)
