Citrix Synergy is this week. Here are my plans and what I'm excited about!

Citrix Synergy is this week in San Francisco, and there’s a lot to be excited about. Here's a quick rundown of what I have planned for the week:

Tuesday night starts out With Geek Speak Live, where Gabe will be among the experts speaking. (And there will be beer :)

On Wednesday morning, Brian, Gabe, and I will be live blogging and tweeting (I'm @JackMadden) the keynote, which starts at 10:30 PST / 1:30 EST. I’m looking forward to hearing what’s in store for ShareFile, Receiver, and CloudGateway—and hopefully we’ll get the answer to how Citrix will manage mobile applications. I've written about this idea a few times before, and the CloudGateway page at Citrix's website mentions mobile apps, too. I'm hoping that what comes out is an actual mobile application management product that works with natively installed applications, instead of just HTML5 or mobile-enabled XenApp applications.

We're going to move Brian and Gabe LIVE to Wednesday, May 9, after the keynote at 1pm PST / 4pm EST.

On Thursday, May 10, we'll have our usual edition of Consumerization Nation at 10am PST / 1pm EST, and at 11:30 Brian will be presenting a session called “How to fail with VDI.”

Aside from Citrix, there are a lot of vendors that I want to talk to, and if there’s anything cool that you see (or want to show me if you’re a vendor) send me an email! Sure, I'll be looking for mobility-relate products, but what's most interesting are products at the cutting edge that combine desktop virtualization with native mobile apps.

Finally, if you want a chance to win a signed copy of The VDI Delusion, leave a comment with your predictions on Gabe’s article from last Friday.
