Citrix recorded a minor win this week with the news that industry veteran Bill Burley left AppSense to join Citrix. Burley was previously with Citrix and made big news when he quit in February 2004 to work for AppSense as their VP of Americas Operations. He took several Citrix employees with him to AppSense. No word yet on whether they'll go back. (My guess is "no.")
Burley worked at Citrix for seven years, and it's widely agreed that he's responsible for building Citrix's channel and taking their sales from basically zero to $250m.
Pretty much everyone in the channel likes Burley, so wherever he works is good news for his employer. Hopefully he can really reach out to Citrix's channel, which has become more and more disenfranchised over the past few years.
