Deploying End-to-End Desktop Virtualization in Under 60 Minutes - Sponsored by: NComputing

Presented by: Carsten Puls for NComputing

Deploying end-to-end desktop virtualization solutions has been perceived as overly complex and cost prohibitive. In this session, Bill Platt, NComputing's SVP of Engineering, will discuss the architectural trade-offs that need to be considered when tightly integrating virtualization software, protocol and hardware to achieve the proper economics for mass adoption of desktop virtualization. Bill will outline how to keep the thin client "truly thin," take advantage of host server processing power, and keep protocol throughput to a minimum while still delivering a rich end user experience. Simultaneously, Matt Allen, NComputing SE, will be on stage deploying an end-to-end desktop virtualization solution to demonstrate how deployments can now be completed in hours or days rather than weeks or months.

They cheap because at the end of the day you pay for what you get such as NO USB redirection (only thing that works on their USB port is memory sticks), no proper management tools, cant integrate into Vmware View or Xendesktop, late with patches, cant do dual screen cause they still use outdated VGA ports and their propriety software (UXP) is outdated and has heavy overhead on the network. Now go figure! good for low end education and thats it!
