This chapter and the next can be logically grouped together because both focus on the architecture of MetaFrame XP environments. Chapter 2 covers the architectural components of specific MetaFrame XP servers. You can think of this as the architecture of MetaFrame XP itself. Chapter 3 covers the architecture of the MetaFrame XP network environment, including those factors that affect how the MetaFrame XP servers are placed on the network and hooked together.

In Chapter 2, we'll first look at how MetaFrame XP works. To do this, we'll take a quick tour of the various pieces and subsystems of a MetaFrame XP server. Then we'll look at some of the decisions that you will have to make when you install MetaFrame XP and any of the Feature Releases or Service Packs.
