Benchmarking VDI / TS Desktop performance with the free Login VSI utility, from BriForum 2008

How many times have you seen performance benchmarks published?

This is a video of a breakout session from BriForum 2008, presented by Jeroen van de Kamp and Bernhard Tritsch.

Session Description: How many times have you seen performance benchmarks published? Wouldn't it be nice if you could also replicate those results in your own environment? (Like if you wanted to compare the performance of VDI versus TS.)

In this session we will introduce Login VSI, a free and easy to use benchmarking methodology from Login Consultants. This is a toolset that allows you to easily compare scalabity of all virtualization platforms and technologies. Login VSI supports all recent Windows OSes (including 32 and 64 bit), Office 2003 and 2007, all application streaming technologies, and most importantly, both TS and VDI. Because the setup is so simple there is an infinite amount of combinations and technologies you can now compare. For instance you can also measure the relative impact of a virus scanner or performance optimization technologies. In this session, we'll discuss the Login VSI architecture and setup, as well as discuss several usage scenarios.
