CES 2012 video: Myriad Alien Dalvik

In this video, I sit down with Olivier Bartholot of Myriad. Myriad Alien Dalvik is a datacenter-based platform for hosting Android virtual machines—think of it as VDI for Android. They have clients available for various devices, including the iPad, as seen in this video. The remote display is via an H.256. What is their intended market? Their headline product at the show was a set-top box software called the Myriad Alien Vue, enabling Android apps for existing set-top boxes and TVs. In theory, it's pretty cool that someone is doing hosted Android, but I don't think anybody would believe that it will have too many killer use-cases.
