BriForum 2013 London session video: Case Study: A Private DaaS for 5,000 users with Citrix Excalibur

BNP Paribas is a leader in banking and financial services in Europe. The Group is present in 80 countries, and employs close to 200,000 people. Two years ago, the bank began an HVD (Hosted Virtual Desktop) in order to meet some requirements for specific users. The project has evolved into a real private Desktop as a Service (DaaS) solution with self-service portal and administration delegation. The last version has studied Excalibur as customer technical preview to avoid any specific development.

In this presentation, Vincent Branger will walk you through the various elements of such an intense project, paying special focus to the technical aspects (dual-site architecture, VM provisioning, security, application provisioning, storage, image management, WAN and protocol) as well as the functional aspects (service catalog, methodology, project management, pedagogy and vulgarisation, users and subsidiaries).  Technical components used are Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, Citrix XenServer, and NetApp. Users are BCP users, developers, subsidiaries, partners, etc.

Presented by Vincent Branger and Pierre Jean
