The Windows operating system is a tremendous beast, filled with magical tricks to improve or crush performance like a cheese sandwich under a dancing elephant. In this session, Tim Mangan will walk through the process Windows uses to boot itself up in significant detail. Understanding the various components and where they can slow down the booting process is important to tuning systems for on-demand use, such as VDI or in the cloud. This session will also demonstrate the diagnostic techniques used to discover the causes of slow booting.
