Ah.. the industry's wet blanket. When talking about security in the context of desktop virtualization, there are actually a few angles to view the conversation. Some people justify their virtual desktop environments based on the (perceived) perception that desktop virtualization and VDI is actually more secure than traditional desktops. Other people talk about security only in the context of desktop virtualization, as in "I've already virtualized my desktops, so now I need to keep them as secure as possible." Still other people want to talk about compliance, Sarbanes Oxley, and HIPAA. Luckily we've written about all this stuff over the past ten years:
