Mobile device virtualization has long been promised, yet as of 2013 it hasn't really been launched yet. The idea is that two virtual environments living side by side on a single phone will allow IT to manage one side of the device (treating it like a corporate phone and avoiding some of the difficulties of mobile app management) and ensure user privacy and isolation on the other side. The problem is that mobile virt will likely be limited to just a handful of Android devices, meaning that it's not an all-encompassing way for IT to deal with BYOD.
