In a bid to make DR a more effective I want to pose this question....

I have a site running PS4.0 with some standard users (office type apps) and a DR site again configured with the same stuff but running PS4.5.

The plan is to migrate the old farm to 4.5 status but prior to that I want to try and reduce costs by popping users onto the DR farm. No problem with this yet eh.... they can happily exist in their own little world. My questions are:

? Can I balance the users between the sites as is so users are presented with a single icon and the balancing is still sorted
? If there is latency between the sites of say 200ms will this cause undue problems
? How would I go about it?

Any help would be mucho appreciated here, a diagram for the simple people would be fantastic.

This started happening in some clients only. I've gone over all the options and it still happening.

I'ved uninstalled and installed clients 10.150, 10.200, and 11 and still the same error.

what else can i do?

I already had installed PSE450W2K3R02 and then I installed PSE450R02W2K3040 to see if it would fix it but it did not. Our setup is as follows:

PS4.5 WI4.6 s. When I configure XAP to use Full screen only the Server desktop does load in Full screen (ALT-TAB works remotely only) but obviously the published applications we need to run seamlessly will also load Full screen.

Is it an issue running both seamless applications and a full desktop via the PNAgent Services site? Or a bug with the XAP? Or am I missing something? :-)

My Farm Consist of One Zone, 7 Citrix PS4.0 Platinum edition servers, all of them are on Windows Server 2003 enterprise edition Service Pack 1. E-gate works fine locally on the Server but doesn?t work via Citrix.

Troubleshooting steps that have been performed

Installation of Java 2 SDK 1.3.1_02,Java 2 SDK 1.4.1_07,e*Gate JRE 1.4 update for SRE,j2re-1_4_2_14,j2re-1_4_2_15 have been installed on the Citrix box.

Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Novell Client 4.91 SP4

If I change password in Webinterface then i logoff and logon again i then get prompted to change password again.

I´ve tried to have Novell Client with NMAS activated on Webinterface server and on Citrix Server but with the same result. Configured NMAS client to do a trace dont get any log file when changing password from WI.

Got a solution for this?

We are running Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 with a published desktop and Adobe 9.0. Users are connecting to Citrix with a Wyse CE VL30 device. Printers are setup on the thin client locally and are mapped to the com ports.

When a user tries to print a pdf file it balloons from a 16 mb file to 77 mb. Also, when I open the printer properties dialog box to watch the document spool, it clears out of the queue as if it is going to print, but nothing ever comes out of the printer. We found that documents that spool to 7 mb or less, it will print. anything larger does not. Also, if the original document has a lot of color or images, it causes the spool size to increase. Only if the original is in b/w does it print. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get these docs to print or know of another pdf viewer application that is compatible with Citrix that will alleviate this problem?

Summary files from servers at a higher revision will not be imported and will build up until the situation is resolved.
Causes
The version of MetaFrame Presentation Server installed on the database connection server is not the latest available on the farm.
Resolutions
Either upgrade the database connection server, or reconfigure another machine from the Summary Database tab of Resource Manager in the Presentation Server Console. If you reconfigure another machine, ensure that the appropriate DBMS client software is installed on the machine and that the data source is correctly reconfigured.

I have a Citrix 4.0 Enterprise farm and I am trying to get the maximum concurrent users for a single application but as well as the maximum number, I need the time that figure was recorded, the users logged in, client name and server. Is this possible? And if so, does anyone have any SQL info to speed my resolution along?

We have a published app on an ancient Windows 2000 / Metaframe XP server that we have migrated to a less ancient PS 4.0 / Windows 2003 server. We are moving the users this weekend. Both servers have local network printers mapped and on the old server, some users can map their client printers while others cannot. This is the desired behavior. However, on the new server these same users' local printers are mapped and they can see other users' mapped printers. This is causing confusion with the users.

Both farms are set to allow clients to map local printers. This setting is also true for the servers' local ICA and RDP connections. So, there must be something configured on the Windows 2000 server to block client local printers for certain groups. The problem is, I can't find anything anywhere. Nothing in domain or local group policy or local security policy. Is there somewhere else I can look? The previous admin left and didn't leave any documentation so I'm stuck. I have two questions related to Citrix Web Interface 4.2 in my farm.

Issue no 1.

I have an external access to web interface from access gateway.
I have published 'Remote Desktop' on web interface to access my office machine from home by connecting to web interface externally using access gateway.
On my client (home) machine, i have a screen resolution of 1900 X 1200
On my remote machine (office machine which i access via web interface), i have a same resolution of 1900 X 1200.
On screen preferences, i have set customer dimension as 1900 X 1200 to get a full view of my office machine.

When I access, I get only 1600 X 1200 resolution.

Can some one help me fix this issue.

Issue no.2

On the same web interface, if i set screen resolution as full screen and keyboard to "remote computer", i see a full a screen of my office machine, but i am unable to come back to my client machine using any keyboard key.
can some one help me fix this as well.

I currently have 6 servers in a PM 4 farm and have recently noticed that one server in the farm no longer seems to be an "active" member - i.e. users are not logged onto this server even when the other 5 servers are under load. I've checked the logs and cannot find anything that would point me in the right direction to fix the problem. I've also noticed a new problem and I think this may be related and that is if I publish an application from this server only - the published app breaks with the following error:

Unable to access ICA file
Error: HTTP 500 - An error occurred while connecting to teh requested resouce.

Simply copying the published app and deleting the original fixes the problem.

I'm assuming that fixing the first issue will also fix the Http 500 problem.

The Http 500 error dosen;t happen to any app published on the other 5 servers.

any pointers and help would be really appreciated.

I've recently implemented a second Citrix server into my farm. It now consists of 2 PS 4.5 servers load balanced via default Load Balancer rule. Load balancing on the internal LAN works fine whereas accessing the farm through my CAG/AAC I receive an error stating "Protocol Driver Error" from time to time.

I added the corresponding Citrix PS named "citrix2" to the farm settings in my AAC configuration as well as in the WI configuration. What did I miss?

My company just acquired Citrix presentation servers and I do not really know much about them. I would like to read up on them but I am not too sure which books are good. I have been using this site quiet often and it has been a huge help. I am pretty new to the IT world and although I am not great with Exchange (I am learning) I would like to become good with Citrix. We have a Presentation Sever/XenApp 4.0 and 4.5 licenses. I have been playing around with them but I really haven?t dug deep into them yet because I do not want to mess up the current setup.

If anyone could recommend some stuff or point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
