I have seperate servers for the applications, file server, database servers etc.

Most of the users use published applications, but a few use published desktops. Clients are a mix of Win 2k/xp, linux PC's and Wyse (Xp) thin terminals.

I'm having a lot of performance issues at the moment. EG a user's outlook totally stopped for 45 seconds today when he hit send on a text only email (25kb). There seems to be plenty of spare RAM (committed is at about 2.5G of 4G, but it seems there is a lot of paging going on. The disk queue also seems high.
These are both according to my metrics.

Can anyone tell me what the metrics/alerts "should" be set at for the performance counters? I've found some people's "general" recommendations on where to set the alerts, but only for a couple of the metrics. I don't know what could be "a problem" if i don't know where the counters should be at.

I'm running the following objects in resource manager:

Citrix Metaframe pres server: Data store connection failure
Logical Disk: %disk time
Logical Disk: %free space
Logical Disk: split IO/sec
Logical Disk: current disk queue length
Memory: Cache faults/sec
Memory: Committed Bytes
Memory: page faults/sec
Memory: Pages/sec
Memory: Pool nonpaged bytes
Memory: Transition faults/sec
Network interface: Bytes total/sec
Paging file: %usage
Processor: %Processor time
Processor: %inturrupt time
System: Context switches/sec
Terminal Services: Inactive sessions
Terminal Services: Active sessions

Obviously some of those (such as disk space, data store connection failure) will not have a bearing on the speed. If there's other metrics i should be monitoring, please let me know.

Any other suggestions/thoughs would ba appreciated.Read more:Group: Tech Support ForumsForum: Citrix Presentation Server / XenApp

Negative ping times on HP blades

We are having a very strange issue with twenty HP BL25p G2 Blades we have recently purchased running Citrix PS 4.0 x64 and Windows 2003 Server x64

We have thirty HP BL25P G1's which are live and run just fine.

Any chance any had similar issues with these blades or have you have heard about this issue?

We have been seeing that when we ping the timings can go a bit wrong.
