Now that Citrix is focusing on end-to-end application delivery, people have been speculating / asking whether Citrix needs to get into the hypervisor market. The word on the street is that they're looking at XenSource for $500M. Does this make sense?

Citrix releases WISP 2007 tech preview

If you haven't heard of WISP, it stands for Web Interface for SharePoint, and it lets SharePoint customers use SharePoint to access Citrix applications and content instead of Citrix's own Web Interface. If you have Subscription Advantage, WISP is available for no cost.

Microsoft releases an RDP v6 Mac beta client

Today Microsoft released a beta version of the RDP v6 client for Mac OSX. However, it seems to be missing many of the cool Windows 2008 RDP 6 features, like the ability to connect to a seamless windows application or the ability to use the TS SSL Gateway.

Bye Bye "iForum." Hello "App Delivery Expo."

Citrix has modified the name of their annual marketing conference. What used to be called "Citrix iForum" is now called "iForum 07, the App Delivery Expo, presented by Citrix." They also raised the price, removed all references to actual Citrix products, and switched to a deep-blue / light-blue color scheme.

Is WANscaler poised to become Citrix's secret weapon?

Citrix bought Orbital Data and released the WANscaler product almost a year ago. After learning more about the products and how they work, I really think that WANscaler will grow to become a very important part of Citrix's application delivery platform.
