As rumored earlier, the beta of the next version of System Center Virtual Machine Manager called System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 has been released to the general public at the Microsoft Management Summit in Las Vegas.
This is the version of System Center Virtual Machine Manager that also manages VMware VI environments (via Virtual Center). In fact, Microsoft think this is one of the key features of System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008. Microsoft supposedly even adds more features to the management of ESX hosts than Virtual Center does. I think there is no more physical representation of Microsoft's intention to take VMware's market share than this VMware "integration" in System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008.
