My name is Mark, however, a lot of close friends and family call me Shane (my middle name). I got into IT in 1996 and I started a little PC repair business called Shanetech and it stuck. Although it is very "Just out of College" I still like it.
My career has been made up of consulting gigs and my recent 6 year stint as an FTE at a pharmaceuticals company. I am currently the service manager for VDI. The bulk of my career has been spent in the data center doing everything from pulling cable, racking servers & storage, to OS and application support. In 2000 I was inspired by a colleague when I saw him installing and configuring Metaframe 1.8. From then on I was drawn to NT 4.0 TSE. It became a side hobby of mine and eventually I was able to assist in a deployment of Metaframe XPe. To make a long story short, I have always been fascinated with x86 Server Based Computing and server technologies in general. I am a hardware junkie and love to test and push hardware to the limits. I am also a diehard and loyal PC gamer. My current rig is a completely water cooled Quad Core Extreme OCd to 3.20 GHz, 8GB of RAM, Dual GeForce 8800GTX Ultras, and 2 OCZ Vertex SSD Drives in a RAID 0 Configuration.
My goal here on this forum is to learn from others and exchange ideas.
