Hi, I'm in the process of setting up a new XenApp 6 Enterprise Edition Test farm and did not include the Edgesight requirements in my original design. I've setup the following in the new farmWeb Interface Server, Citrix/RD License Server, XenApp 6 server, dedicated DC server - datastore and Config Logging Database are hosted on a SQL Server 2008. For the test farm could I install the Edgesight server on my Web Interface server? which is used by the new Xenapp 6 farm and a XenApp 5 farm. I have already created a blank database on the sql server and have a domain a/c created and set as db_owner on the d/b or does it have to be created during the install? I did this back when I was thinking of Resource Manager which of course has been replace by Edgesight -
For the production farm would it be best practice to have a dedicated Edgesight server and also install SQL on the server to host the database etc?
Any advice would be appreciated
Edgesight is its own separate animal. I would not install it on a Web Interface server, but if you must, it can be installed on the SQL server. Keep in mind that Edgesight also requires SQL Reporting services to be configured.
