While doing the sizing for 5872 Linked Clone Light User VMs on Vmware view 5. I faced one major problem which is factoring the vCPU power in MHz for all 5872 VMs per server basis. I am considering UCS B230 M2 @ E7 2870 UCS Blade as ESX Physical Node which has the following configuration.

  • Processor Speed in GHz = 2.4 (Dual Core Xeon)
  • No of CPUs = 2
  • Cores per CPU = 10
  • Physical RAM = 128GB (Expandeble to 512 GB)

Kindly help me in getting the calculation for following things.

  1. Per vCPU power in MHz for Light, Medium & Heavy users for Windows 7 VMs
  2. VMs Per Core.
  3. No of VMs per ESX Node.

Kindly help me with the calculations rather than assuming some figures

Regards
