Have you got session reliability enabled? if so try disabling and try again, this sometimes happen if the port cannot be used, typically port 2598

Hi Bruce,

Good Day!!!

Well coming to the point, i have a similar problem here. I am running Citrix PS 4.0 in win 2k3 server and I have 16 servers in a farm. Here comes the problem, i receive "Protocol Driver Error" message while launching applications through Program Neighbourhood almost everyday on few servers and the strange thing is problem happens on the same servers.  I do confirm the session reliablity is enabled and the port used by session reliability is not being used by any other service.

As recommended, i did RDP to login that server and then performed below steps to resolve the issue,

1)     Navigated to the path M:\Program Files\Citrix\XTE\Conf.

2)     Delete/ Rename file httpd.conf and then restart IMA and XTE service.

But this didn't fix the issues on those servers :(:( Have looked in to event logs but no evidence found over there.

Any suggestions on why is this happening on perticular servers!!!!!!!

Thanks

Hi Nithin,

So this only happens in PN, so going through the WI works OK, I have seen this a lot through WI but bot really through PN. This still sounds like the network traffic isnt getting to the desired server. Have you tried disabling the session reliability and just using default port 1494, are all your servers in 1 location or are they split site?

Hi Bruce,

Much thanks for the post. Yes, it happens in PN. We have 18 PRD servers located at one place. Issue occurs in 6 servers out of 18. I'm afraid disabling session reliability will not be of much help since other 12 servers are working fine where session reliability is enabled.

It would be of great help if you could priovide me some more suggestions/ solutions.Stick out tongue

Thanks in advance.

Nithin
