Dear All,
I have questions, or may be I will call it's confusing atleast for me. So I decided to post them.
In an environment's Zone properties, all servers are listed with default preference other than the data collector.
Scenario: Data collector has lost its connection with the License Server [say the server stopped responding on port 27000] and did not even check out Citrix startup license, however the server is still communicating with other member servers. After the 30 days notice period of License warning what will be the impact of the users/server in the environment.
I was thinking that the Zone data collector will function as a data collector without accepting new connections as the license grace period is expired. But will a server function as Zone Data Collector even afer License expiration or loosing communication to License Server!!!!!!
Questions:1. Will this ever trigger the election process in this scenario?2. What will be the state of Data Collector after 30days of License grace?

I was in an assumption to test if this scenario is really valid in an environment. Because when I explained this to many they said there is no possibility of this scenario, and was advising me of troubleshooting the ZDC and License Server connectivity. Honeslty I was not looking for the remediation but rather looking from a design/architectural point view about "what should happen"
I understand the License is all about Client devices and its connections. I agree the ZDC will still perform its role without accepting client connection after grace period. But the point which I do not understand is, how is a server with no contact with License Server performs such an important role. May be its a part of Citrix design.
