I have an issue where we use active reports to generate a certain set of financial reports out of our accounting software. I currently have 3 users who, when they try to print, only get blank pages out of their printer.

They are using a variety of Windows formats from XP to 7 and various client versions. I have had other users with this issue but when I changed their printer mapping from Citrix UPD to HP LaserJet 4 the printing started working.
However, these three users have printers that will not print at all with the HP LaserJet 4 driver. Anyone have an idea of why we only get blank pages with the Citrix UPD?

The latest is using a Samsung ML-2510 Printer.
Another uses the HP LaserJet P2015

This has me really scratching my head.

I now have 3 users with this issue and they all have different printers.

HP laserJet 2015, Samsung ML-2015 and Dell Laser 1100.

All currently use the CItrix universal driver and none will work with the alternate drivers we allow on our severs.

I really do not know how to correct it or why it seemed to spontaneously Stop working.  All three have been working fine for months, then all of a sudden, with no known changes on our end and none that I am aware of on the client side, just stopped working.

Again other users have had a related problem and changing to a different driver, usually laserJet 4, seems to clear it up, but these printers will nto work with anything but the Citrix universal as far as I can tell.

Dave

What steps have you tried?  Have you had the users Uninstall and re-install the printer or rename it?

If you store printer settings on the client there is a registry key that holds printer settings.  We are restricted from making registry changes but I have had success in the past with clearing that key.

What answers have you been given, if any? Perhaps it is something we can build on.
