  Hello Everyone!

I’m trying to connect their Iphone Ipad to our Xenapp 6 citrix services.
Internally, it’s working fine.. I can open all application available from the citrix receiver. When user are outside the office, they should connect the iphone or ipad to our office network with cisco Anyconnect. I know the vpn on because I can do a remote desktop on the server. (So small on iphone!) When they are VPN connected, they cannot reach the citrix server for an unknown reason. I know the citrix service works across VPN because some users are connected from their laptop and can open the citrix service across VPN.

Anybody know if I need special setting on my Citrix, VPN or iphone to get connected properly?

Thanks,

As you can get a RDP session going to the same servers it is probably going to be:

 - Name resolution

- ICA Traffic is blocked

 - Setup of the PNAgent Website

 - Routing

BTW ever had to remote support on the iPhone, sucks but is beats a trip to the office!

I've done emergency support with an iPad (same idea, but more screen real estate).

Worked pretty good, all things considered.  I wouldn't want to work on it all day, though.

Why is it called "Common Sense"? It doesn't seem all that common!

I did a few more tests..

Inside

-          I can do an RDP to citrix.mydomain.ca

-          I can do an ICA to citrix.mydomain.ca

-          I can do an RDP to IP address

-          I can do an ICA to IP address

VPN

-          I can do an RDP to citrix.mydomain.ca

-          I can’t do an ICA to citrix.mydomain.ca

-          I can do an RDP to IP address

-          I can do an ICA to IP address

Is there any difference in resolving DNS in RDP and ICA..  ?

Also I switch from an Alias to a host name..  doesn’t really make difference.

I notice on my cisco VPN split tunnel is enable..  I’ll trycreaqte another profile without split tunneling.

"Is there any difference in resolving DNS in RDP and ICA", no but ICA might be using a local hosts file!

When you telnet to citrix.mydomain.ca 1494 and 2598 what do you get?

Hi emil,

I don’t know how to telnet from an iphone..

Finally, I create another profil without split tunneling for the VPN and it’s working fine now..   I was able to RDP because server name was in ”cache”  2 days later I wasn’t able.. so I conclude about DNS error..    Laptops are already on the domain so they add mydomain.local by default on every query..  Not the Ipad..    Internally, citrix.mydomain.ca was redirect properly..  but vpn connected with split tunneling send DNS queries to external DNS server, result of unresolved request..

I,m not sure if it’s the best way to do it.. but it’s working and management are happy..

I have seen some  vpn service provider who commit to be providing best vpn services but you should look into their vpn reviews before selecting them.. If you want to buy any best vpn connection you’re your work than first take a look at their vpn reviews because it’s best to use fast and reliable authentic connection.

Hello, I bought a ipad recently and looking for ipad vpn services which allow me to access blocked and banned sites in my region. I tried contacting some vpn provider but want to hear reviews from you guys too. So, I will choose only best vpn provider and one more thing does they going to help me in set up ipad vpn connection or I have to do it by myself, it’s kind a new service for me.
