Hopefully someone out there has the answer to this question...
I recently ordered a Windows 2008 R2 server in order to replace their antiquated windows 2000 Terminal Server/Citrix environment. One challenge i am running into is with regards to the Terminal Server Easy Print feature, and how it re-ennumerates the session id each time the client logs out and logs back on to the environment. We use terminal services to publish out a point of sale application specific to their line of business, and it utilizes several printers (i.e. label printer, receipt printer, etc).
The difficulty is with the who rennumeration which occurs. Each time which the client disconnects then reconnects, the session ID associated with the redirected queue can change, which means that the user has to reconfigure their printers each time.
Question is if there is a means whereby i can either (a) ensure that the session id remains consistent on a per user basis or (b) remove the 'redirected Session#' verbage which is appended to the queue name when the redirected queue is created on the server.
Hopefully someone out there has the answer to this question.
So the users have staticly assigned printers setup in their profile?
