Hi guys, on one of my Citrix servers, the local Ctx_SmaUser account is continually being locked out.

I've reset the password and checked that it's in Power Users and also has the correct rights in the local policies and com+ objects.

Short of deleting it and using the Ctx_SmaUser re-creation tool, is there anything I can check?

I've gone through the following Citrix KB articles;

http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX106683

http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX106661

http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX106393

and checked everything, all the rights/permissions on the account look fine to me. Does anyone have any idea what could be locking the account out? Something is trying to use it, and getting the password wrong, locking the account out, what would be doing that?

I've changed the password, is there more than one spot that I should be doing that other than on the local user object, and changing the password on the Citrix Print Manager service? (that uses this account to start it).

Thanks in advance, Shane.

Is that service acct being used anywhere else on your network with a bad password?

Hi Dan, no it's not a domain account. It's local to each of the Citrix servers. The continual locking of it is only happening on one of the servers.

I tried the ctx_smauser recreation tool and that did absolutely nothing. the account still locks itself out. i've changed the 2 services that use it to Local System which works to get them started and generating auto-print queues for users but would still like to track down the source of the issue.

Has anyone else had this happen?
