I am getting the following error message when trying to run 'Configure and discovery' from a new instance of Web Interface v5.2.

[Error occurred when using "ServerName" in the discovery process. Citrix MFCOM Service did not respond as expected. Make sure that your user account is a member of this computer's Distributed COM Users group if you are connecting to a remote server. Check the version of Citrix XenApp on the computer and make sure that a compatible version of Citrix MFCOM Service is installed and running.]

I've found some suggestions and fixes however none that relate to my enviroment - which may be uncommon;

Presentation Server v4.0 farm - each member running Windows 2003.

This new Web Interface is v5.2 and it's on Windows 2008.

Can anyone think of possible reasons for this? I have checked the obvious thinsg such as those mentioned in the error pasted above. Thanks in advance!

Though Im not an expert on these matter it sounds like you may have an incompatibility problem with Windows 2003 and 2008. Can you upgrade each member to 2008? I think it may have to do with the service packs. I found a link that lists the following as a resolution:

Install Service Pack 2 for Windows Server 2003 on the server running Presentation Server 64-bit (4.0 or 4.5).  If you are running Presentation Server 4.0 64-bit on a server running Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 and plan to upgrade to Presentation Server 4.5 64-bit, complete the following procedure after applying Service Pack 2:  1. Verify that you do not have any COM+ issues or errors in the Event Log.  2. Verify that the COM+ Event System and COM+ System Application services are enabled.

Are you running the Web Interface configuration from the Web Interface server?
