Anyone use this? If so what do you think?
I've heard that it can't be used with Windows 2008. Not my opinion of the product, I know - just something I've heard a lot.
This is quite useful though: http://www.cns-service.com/citrix/citrix-netscaler-features.aspx
We are more of an AGEE group where I am at but we did have it up and running for some testing and was actually pretty impressed.
I thought it was a hell of a product
As for 2008 I am not sure, basically you inject the Edgesight server into your html web pages using htmlinjection on the Netscaler and metrics are uploaded to the database. The back end server is a Windows box that provides SOA calls to SQL.
It is possible that the server software won't work on 2008, I haven't checked. You cannot use an existing Edgesight for XenApp/Endpoints web server for it, you have to stand up a separate environment for it.
Gave me very good graphs and numbers on web application performance.
I was pretty happy with it, we just aren't a web hosting team.

Hmmm, how's it licensed? We have EdgeSight terminal server and endpoint agent licenses (and Enterprise licensing overall).
Thanks, that link helped. Is EdgeSight worth setting up?
You need to have "HTML Injection" feature added to the Netscaler. If you have a Platinum Netscaler, then Edgesight is free.(Accept you have to install it on a server)
If you host a web farm or are concerned about the actual performance of your web servers then I think it's a great tool. That said, we could not get it to work with the Citrix Web Interface (unbelievable!) because it does not like the html injection so we ended up not using just yet.
If I were a web farm administrator, I would definitely use it.
I believe the old Synergy videos are online now from 2008 that showed some of the capabilities, let me look for them and I will post them.
