Hello,

we are currently running the Enterprise version of XenApp. I would like to know the benefits that you get with the Platinum edition that are over and above Enterprise.

Has anyone upgraded from Enterprise, and how beneficial was it to your Citrix infrastructure?

Thanks,

Helen.

Hi Helen,

This table lists the differences between Enterprise and Platinum.

We've considered upgrading from Enterprise to Platinum, to get Provisioning Server and all the EdgeSight licenses, among them.  However, we have stuck with Enterprise, and pay for EdgeSight on top.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Mark

We went Platinum about a year ago.  The biggest benefit at the time was getting EdgeSight, which has helped us a lot over the last while in reporting and troubleshooting. Plus, you get licensed for a TON of other stuff. Look into it.

Why is it called "Common Sense"? It doesn't seem all that common!

You only get EdgeSight with the TS agents don't you with XenApp Platinum?  Do you have to still purchase Endpoint licenses?

Yes, you only get the server-side licenses.  End-Point Agent licensing is still extra.  But, it has still been worth it, even without the End-Point agents.

I must admit, it would be good to switch to Platinum, as that includes Provisioning Server   - really keen on implementing that.

There are additional components in Platinum as well as EdegSight and Provisioning Server, but they're the ones that stand out for me.  There could be one or two other things in there that you'd use, and would ordinarily have to pay for on top of Enterprise licensing.
