Can anyone confirm, if accario still exist or still provide support for AAC scans?? youaccario.com  also appears to be down.

Brian lists the CEO of this company a "friend" in this article http://www.brianmadden.com/blogs/brianmadden/archive/2008/01/13/whoops-extentrix-cuts-and-pastes-their-product-documention-from-epa-factory.aspx

Perhaps he knows??

Hi Mike,

You are right. Accario went out of business last year. This is has been confirmed to me personally. It is sad that this happens to them. Fortunately, we are taking our responsibility and respond it to their customer demands and offered them a special upgrade price:http://www.extentrix.com/epafactory. Extentrix is offering the Enterprise edition of its EPA scans (http://www.extentrix.com/epa) for CAG enterprise in the first week of February.

Thanks,

Alaa Jallad

Hi Mike,

I was one of the founders and and shareholders of Accario and likewise am a little miffed as to what has happened.  As this is a public forum I will limit what I say strictly to the facts and let you draw your own conclusions:

In October 2009 Brian DaBinett (CEO of Accario) liquidated another company he owned alongside Accario.  Around this time he let all of the developers at Accario leave so did not have any development resource.  As part of this associated company's liquidation, Brian submitted a written statement saying that he was returning all of his Accario shares back to the company treasury and indicated he would not be involved with it anymore.

Around the same time he stopped responding to customer support emails.

I have been notified by customers that despite his official statements in October, he continued to sell Accario solutions and took payments from customers until at least November 2009.  I have not been able to confirm what has happened to these funds.

Brian now works for another UK Citrix Services provider in sales.

Obviously this does not help you, however athe majority of the ex-Accario developers now work for The Development Cloud so may be able to help you with any issues that do not require code changes.  Likewise we (The Development Cloud) will also be releasing a number of scan products for Access Gateway Advanced and Access Gateway Enterprise, the majority of which will be made available free of charge.

Please feel free to contact me for further information.

Tim

Hello Mike,

That's right. As far as I know Extentrix will distribute these enterprise scan's in the future, but I don' t know if they'll implement them as a new product or only parts of them to develope own products...but there is still another vendor who is developing own scans. Check this out http://www.k-is.com/index.php/en/k-is-multiscan-epa We're using this scan since years for our AG adv. and later ent. In my opinion they are easier to mange and the license structur is uncomplecated.

Another option for EPA Scans is through the Citrix Endpoint Analysis portal just launched by OPSWAT. It's a free tool that allows Citrix Access Gateway customers to quickly generate endpoint compliance checking policies. Through the portal, you are also able to easily implement and enforce a fast, free malware scan before network access is granted. Please check out the portal at citrix.opswat.com, or read more about it here: http://www.networkcomputing.com/wan-security/new-citrix-portal-checks-endpoint-software-configuration.php
