Client stuck at "Launching application...", in the x64 Terminal Server / Citrix forum on BrianMadden.com

I have a problem that is locking up the server, when clients launch an application, the application will open, but the Citrix client will stick at "Launching application..." even after the application is closed. Also, when I log on to the server console, I cannot open the Task Manager. The icon will appear in the task bar, but it never opens on screen. My only remedy is to restart the server. I am running CPS 4.5 x64 on Windows 2003 R2 x64 SP2 w/14 GB RAM

I wondered if this would help?

Remove CTXHIDE from this reg key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\AppSetup

Sorry, that was not part of the problem. I did run a couple of hotfixes and resolved the problem.
