We currently have a Citrix farm with 4 2003 TS/Citrix Servers. I
migrated out 2003 license server to a 2008 server last night.
The MS rep gave me the Device CALs for the new license server
and when I installed them, they show up as 2008 CALs.  Last  night
during the mgiration, I didn't think anything of it because I thought
I had read that a 2008 CAL will work for a 2003 TS server.

However, when I look at the license server today - no 2008 CALs have
been allocated, but a 2003 Temp pool has showed up with allocations.

Will 2008 CALs not work with 2003?  do I need to call the clearing
house and get the 2008 CALs downgraded?

Appreciate any info on this.

Here is a good post on 2008 TS licensing:  http://www.msterminalservices.org/articles/Changes-Windows-Server-2008-Terminal-Server-Licensing-Part1.html

The short of it is, 2008 TS licensing should be able to hand out 2003 licenses.  You will need to have MS change the licenses back to 2003.
