We are looking at some new hardware and I want to pose a question to the forum:

VMware has great mark for the IBM and HP blades, has someone got real world results on either of these?

Also, I've read tons that Xenserver would be best for runningvirtualized Citrix server instead of running them on VMWare, again any real world opinions on this?

My name is John Johnson, but everyone here calls me Vicki...

About a year ago we got IBM Blades and a IBM DS4700 SAN. The idea was to use VMWare 3.5 to virtualise basically everything except Citrix, Exchange and SQL. The project was such a success that we now only have Exchange and SQL not running on VM. The Citrix move over to VM was totally seamless and works fantasically (we have about 20 citrix servers). We would not go back to physical servers. Regarding HP vs IBM we looked at both but went with IBM due many due becuase of our relationship with them. I'm sure HP would be just as good and I always think there hardware monitoring is better than IBM Director software.
