Our Terminal server licensing server was setup years ago when we had Novell and no AD domain on a stand-alone Windows server. We are now in the process in moving the License server to a domain controller.

I am told by the consultant who will be doing the work that I need a 'Authorization number" in order to install/activate the new Licensing server.

I have spend the last 2 weeks talking to various Microsoft support departments and my Microsoft reseller but i am getting nowhere.

Does anybody know for sure who will be able to provide this number

Thanks,

Hi,

If you can't come up with the Certificate of License paperwork you received from your reseller, then you have no proof of ownership and you'll either have to convince the Microsoft Clearinghouse that you legitimately own the TS CALs (a PO/invoice might be enough) or you'll have to purchase new TS CALs.

Hopefully you can dig up a PO number and have your reseller lookup the PO number so they can track down the license number or MS agreement number.

Thanks, in the end the reseller came up with the 'agreement number' which was enough to activate the licenses.
