Anyone have experience deploying the Mac OSX web client via the Web Interface?

Most of our users run Windows but there are a few that run Mac OSX. I have a link at the login page to download the client but it would be nice to autodeploy it.

Any ideas?

Do you have any management control over the Macs?  If not try googling on how to make a custom .DMG.  I did try it one but it was easier to give the users a 'one pager' set of instructions.  If you get it to work pleaes blog it and share, would love to try it again.  Best go and dust the II series! Unfortunately we have no management control. Our in-office environment supports only Windows based PCs. Remote users have the Macs. Maybe the link and a set of instructions like you mentioned is the only route.

Do you have the Mac client in: C:\Program Files\Citrix\Web Interface\4.6.0\Clients

Also - make sure you have authenticated users - read & execute permissions on the web interface directory above it.

I do have it in that directory, however, in a subfolder named "OSX". Is that correct? Inside is the MacICA_OSX.dmg file for the Mac client. That is only Mac client I could find on Citrix.com. I'm pretty sure its the full client and not just the web verison.

I just set up a new farm with a mac user who could remotely install the web client via the web interface.  I'm not sure which directory it grabbed it from.  You will have to perform some further testing with the end user.  Or throw the Mac web client in each directory.

Ahh, so was the issue deploying to users and not an automated install?

I'm having this issue now on a new farm.  Also want to auto deploy with Certificate.  I came across this article that is outdated (2003), but worth a try.  Only problem, you have to customize/repackage the client on a MAC.  Ouch.  Has anyone performed this?

Hi Dan,

Unfortunately I do not have any experience. But I am interested in knowing if you get it working. We may have to do something similar in our environment someday.

No problem.  I have a savvy Mac user repackaging with the cert now and then we will be testing shortly.  I'll provide feedback on our results.

Matt, I got this working with the Java client (Mac client as well).  I had to link the Root Cert to the Primary Intermediate on the CAG, so it does not need to reside on the MAC Client any longer.  All automated.  I repackaged the MAC Client as well with the Cert, so it can be pulled down as well....if you're still interested.

Hi

I have a user who experiencing issues connecting to Citrix Web Interface 2.0 using their MAC.  They are receiving SSL errors.  Do you have a quick work around to get this working for our user.

Our environment is predominantly Windows with the exception of few.  I have read articles about adding the certificate chain to get to work as it is not automated like Windows.

I have not done anything special on Citrix WI to support MAC - does this need to be done as well.

Which client are you using on the MAC?

Are you using a CAG?

Which Certs are you using?

I am using Verisign root and primary intermediate certs that I linked on the AGEE.

In the left hand pane on your AGEE:

1. SSL Folder - highlight Certificates.

2. In the right hand pane, ensure your root and intermediate cert are there. Highlight your root

Cert and then click the Cert Links button (lower right) and link your root cert to your intermediate.

3. enable the java client on your Web Interface and then test it from a MAC with no client on it.

Using MAC OS X and use Citrix Secure Gateway with Web Interface 2.0

We are using Verisign Certificates.  I asked the user to install a certificate in the certificate area but when they attempt to load the application they receive the following error

SSL Error 4: There is no Citrix SSL Server configured on the specified address.  Error number 183

The certificates are valid and work fine on Windows.  Will using the JAVA client remedy this problem.  I have asked the user to test two Citrix addresses with the same problem.
