Hi, looking for some help with slow logons.

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

XenApp 32 bit farm.  Novell authentication required.  Initial app launch takes 45-60 seconds.  Subsequent app launches during that session 2-5 seconds.   Have verified the network provider order with Microsofot Windows Network at a higher priority than NetWare Services, and have ensured that the windows fonts directory is part of the environment variable path.

After enabling verbose logons:

Longest delay

USERENV(c00.5cc) 12:34:46:978 UnloadUserProfile: returning 1

USERENV(14cc.b9c) 12:35:10:649 InitializePolicyProcessing: Initialised Machine Mutex/Events

Any thoughts on optimizing short of getting the University to give up on Novell J?

Thanks

JLH

Hmm, have a look at DNS and see if the profile servers are resolving properly.  Then try a new user without a stored profile to see if it is a large one causing the issue.
