I work at a university which is largely decentralized and has no desktop management. (painful, I know) We're currently planning to attack this with a desktop management suite offering (SCCM). However the problem I have with this, is that it seems by the time we really get the project going, virtual desktops will be here and ready for prime time. I contemplate whether or not we should wait it out, or even try going forward with the current VDI offerings (i.e. VMWare view)
I'm interested in hearing all opinions on this matter.
