We use license reservations for one of our farms.  I allocate licenses to server groups specifically.  Is anyone else using this technique? This was the only option I came up with in order to guarantee licenses to different servers within the farm.  I wanted to get others experiences or techniques for how they manage license usage across different servers/business units/apps within the same farm.

My reservation technique: http://www.chadpyle.com/?p=115

Thanks for any input/discussion you can provide on this subject.

Currently, assigning licenses to servers is the only mechanism Citrix provides for "reserving" licenses.  It would be great if you could hold ones for certain key users (eg. users that can make your life miserable Smile). What Citrix provies makes the assumption that all the applications users want are on one server (or group of servers) which isn't always the case.

Why is it called "Common Sense"? It doesn't seem all that common!
