Anyone else out there have an issue/solution with Acrobat 8.x and XenServer Tools on a XenServer 5 hosted Windows 2003R2 32bit VM?  I narrowed down lock ups with Acrobat to XenServer Tools. If XenTools is installed Adobe locks up. Uninstalled Acrobat works fine.

go to: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3750

Download and run this file. after the restart, you may need to re-activate. If you get the "Too many activations" prompt, call Adobe and TRY to explain the situation and they will assist with reactivation.

Sorry, no answer, but another piece to the puzzle...

I am having the same problem. I thought maybe it could be Security permission problems so I went to the Acrobat.exe Properties and set User account privileges to "Allow non-administrators to run this program". After that Non-Adminitrators were prompted with "No Valid Actobat Serial number found. Acrobat will now quit".  I tried to De-activate or Activate, but the option was disabled.

I've seen this in a different environment where it is not apparent to the user launching Adobe, but on the server side, the licence agreement is prompting for the user to click ok and it just hangs.

I can verify that was at the VM's console when I tested acrobat. So there wasn't a message waiting there.

Many thanks. This patch forced an activation (which seemed to never work with XenTools installed) and i can merge pdf's without issue. Even though the patch says "Vista only"  it worked fine on Windows 2003R2 Server.
