Well, Citrix have at last released version 5 code for the wanscaler. And just to confuse you, they also took the opportunity to rename everything!
"Wanscaler" is now the Citrix "Repeater"; the "Branch Repeater" is the "Branch Repeater with Windows Server", and the non-windows version of the BR is called the "Branch Repeater".
The BIG news in the version 5 release is the support for compression of ICA traffic. You need certain hotfixes etc on your server, and an up to date ICA client too, but this allows the Wanscaler to un-encrypt the data, and apply cross-sessional compression to the data going over your WAN links. (It also disables data compresssion on the server / client, which removes a slight workload there).
More news over on the Citrix website.
