Hi all,
I'm currently investigating a business case for a VDI implementation within my company. I'm trying to find bandwidth requirements for this solution. E.g. when idle, when active , what about peeks?
This in order to find out if current WAN connections to my branches (1Mbps or 2 Mpbs) are sufficient or not.

Can anyone give me advice on this one please?

Regards,

Tom

Hi there,

It is the same type of measurement as XenApp.  If you currently have XenApp in your environment, then use those as a rough estimate.

Be aware though that this may not take into account printing and other traffic that traverses your WAN, what apps are delvered and also how often your screen has to be refreshed (Media player will use more WAN than a word document).

Also what makes a difference is if you are using say SHDSL, business grade ISP as opposed to a residential service.

There is no hard and fast answer for this unfortunantly.
