Two Citrix farms, both MPS4.0 running windows server 2003, connected over a WAN, ports 1494 and 2598 are both open.

There is an application that only resides in farm1 which users in farm2 wish to access.

A link within IE to the WI of farm1 is published in farm2, pass-through is enabled, session reliability is disabled, both done on the WI of farm1.

Users from farm2 can cannect to the WI which logs then on automatically and they see the icon for the appliacation.  However upon trying to connect the following error:

"Cannot connect to the Citrix MetaFrame server. There is no route to the specified subnet address."

Presviously with session reliability enabled I recieved this error:

"Cannot connect to the Citrix MetaFrame server. Protocol Driver error."

Both of the above errors point of session reliability issues, this is why it is disabled.

I have obviously downloaded the ICA file and checked connectivity via port 1494 and this is fine.

If I RDP to a Citrix server in farm2, and connect via IE to the WI of farm1 from there the application works fine. This is now looking like a ICA within ICA issue. Also as a troubleshooting exercise I published PN.EXE on farm2 configured an application set for farm1.  If I use this either on the server itself or via the published application, from farm2, this also works without hitch.  This is obviously running ICA within ICA, (via the published applciation).

Anybody have any ideas as to how this can work via the WI interface solution?

Hi. Did you ever find a solution for this?

Having a very similar problem today and am up against it for timescales. Strangley one user can access both farms with no issues and two other users farm1 works but farm2 doesnt with the dreaded

"Cannot connect to the Citrix MetaFrame server. There is no route to the specified subnet address."

The users go through CSG and Session Reliability is off, no alt addressing and server is listening on 1494, licensed and version correct, ICAtcp listening on correct vlan, TS lics to User - Though all works fine within the data center zone.

Grrr

If you are using CSG, then the connection should be trying to use port 443, not 1494 or 2598.  So, it could be a firewall issue or perhaps a certificate issue.  Have you checked both of those?

Why is it called "Common Sense"? It doesn't seem all that common!

Hi.

Our config is clients to CSG is via 443. CSG to XenApp5 (1494) without session reliability. CSG to STA 443.

We are running two farms off a single WI site - farm 1 - cps4 and farm 2 - xenapp5. CPS4 works a treat.
