Can someone let me know if the EdgeSight monitoring tool works within a Presentation 4.0 farm? If so what kind of benefits could be gained from using it? We are having a vendor come to demo a third party monitoring tool for Citrix in a few weeks, I am thinking since we own the Enterprise licenses maybe we should just implement EdgeSight if its possible for PS4.0.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, EdgeSight works with PS 4.0. We ran a Proof-Of-Concept here with it. Unfortunately, the biggest gain comes when you can run the agent on the client side, as well as the back end stuff. Our environment doesn't allow the installation of ANYTHING on the bulk of the end-devices, so we couldn't get nearly as much out of it as we might otherwise have. If you can get the agent on the client device, you should be able to gain a very good insight into what the end-user experience is like.
Hope this helps.

So it is basicaly a more in-depth monitoring/reporting tool than the Resource Manager, correct? Thank you much...

Yes, and no. It is designed to assist with end-to-end troublehsooting, something Resource Manager could never do. The agent running on the client side is supposed to collect and report on things as the client sees them, so you can look at things from both ends. Again, RM could never do that. It only ever reports on what's happening on the server side.

What to do to get it working? We are @ R04 on PS4.0. Citrix has a doc/fix for R03 that appears to add "Platinum" to the "Set Version" on the server. I don't want to have to go back to R03 nor take any chances w/R05. We are on our way to 4.5 Platinum and want Edgesight for our existing PS4 servers in the meantime.
thanx,
