We have the Citrix Presentation server Management Pack for MOM 2005 installed and monitoring our Citrix farm. The MOM agent on our Citrix Licensing server keeps reporting (every few days) that we have run out of available licenses, but the Product Reports in the Citrix Licensing Console show that we are only getting up to about 80-85% license usage.

Has anybody else experienced this error?

Thanks,
Doug.

Is the mom2005 event really about your citrix licenses or about the mom license? Can you poste the complete event in here?

Hans,

the exact error reported by MOM is:

Severity: Service Unavailable
Status: New
Source: Citrix MetaFrame
Name: Licenses: Out of available licenses
Description: Out of available licenses in license pool MPS_ENT_CCU, Retail

Further information, and license administration functionality is available from http://

On viewing the Pooled License in Use % graph from the MOM Operator Console, Performance Views, we see that licenses are reaching 100% use several times a day. When we compare this graph to the chart produced by the Citrix Licnesing console, the shape of the two graphs are exactly matched, except that the MOM graph shows us reaching 100% use and the Citrix licensing consle chart shows us reaching about 80% use. It's almost as though the MOM graph is working on 300 licenses as being 100%, where in fact we have 355 user connection license. Very strange.

Thanks,
Doug.

i am getting the same thing. is there a way to lower(or change) the threshold so that i only get the alerts if 99% of the licenses are in use.

i want to get "low on licenses" when i reach 98% of licenses in use and "out of license" when there are 100% is used.

how do i go about doing this?

Well we implemented mom2005 recently and guess what :) yes we got the same anoying bug also. The mom package isn't good imho. It reports to fast that citrix is out of licenses were in fact it isn't at all. I hope citrix will make a new management pack so we can distribute it again and watch the real data instead of being spoked in the mom2005 operator console with messages that aren't really good.

Looks like no one has a solution to this yet? We have exactly the same issue.

We had contacted Citirx once about this and we were told to apply the Citrix updates on the Presentation Server !!. In our environment, we have the license server running on a completely separate server. The problem seems to be from MOM Pack not being able to get correct information from the license server, but Citrix kept insisting on installing updates on the Presentation Servers, which looked ridiculous. Since we did not want to disturb the PSs stability, we opted not to apply any updates.

If anyone has found a solution, kindly share.

seems like a couple of people are having this issue as well as myself. just seems very odd how the data isn't being read correctly...

still an open issue im guessing? has any1 discovered a fix for this?

Not sure if this helps, but our issue (the same as listed above) started after we added our new subscription advantage licenses.

Sorry about reviving a really old thread, but I've been experiencing these issues myself lately.

I get both "The Subscription Advantage date for the following license(s) will expire on" and "Out of available licenses in license pool" messages. I've recently upgraded my license management console and renewed all my subscriptions and everything looks fine in console. Still the mom 2005 server is reporting these issues.

Anyone got any further on this? I will try to remember to update this thread once I find a solution, if any.
