Hi all, new to the forum and I guess I will start with a biggie...

We need to control printers in our Citrix/TS environment, that are connected after the session is created and therefore have the GPOs in place not to install printer drivers etc. Because the printers are created in the session and not from the client (Thin Clients - no printers) we cannot use the ICA UPD, TS UPD/Fallback, wtsprnt.inf or ntprintsubs.inf because these rely on the printer being created with the session. We have tried the rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry process which works great for local redirection (LPT) but unfortunetely the windows point and print proccess is s little more complex.

So is there a way to redirect the driver for a network printer without using the ICA or RDP processes?

Thanks in advance Emil

Hi,

Have you looked at using Session Printers via Citrix policy yet? See page 270-272 of the CPS 4.5 Admin Guide for details...

Thanks Alan, we did but the Client does not want to use them as they do not have any location info set on the printers.
