License problem after upgrade one of our CAG's - June 17, 2008

 Hi,

We are running 2 CAG's in a failover configuration. I updated one of them from "4.5 build 28" to "4.5.7 build 21". Since the update the updated CAG doesn't get licenses anymore from the first CAG, which is setup to be licenseserver. Connectivity between the boxes is ok. Anyone knows whats happening here.

Maybe its solved by updating the licenseserver but i would like to be a little more sure, the license server is also the apliance that usualy used by our clients.. If not solved by updating, is there a dependable way to revert back to the current situation?

the licenseserver must be the same or higher version than the other.

 Thanks for your input Michael. Seems clear to me. What about my question about reverting to the current situation? Im not to keen about updating to an unsecure situation. If it all works everybody is happy if not well you know..

 Hi Marco,

for this you have to re-image the AG with the older version. But, if the 4.5.7 box runs well, why not update the other? In the actual state it will not work either.

My advice for this situation:
1. Save the configuration on both boxes.
2. Update the second AG

If it works, all is ok, otherwise: Use a 4.5 CD to re-image the boxes and import the saved configurations.

But you don't want to go back, when both systems running at 4.5.7 ;-)

 Hi Michael,

True, I need the update. But the second cag currently has no licenses. So if the second cag gets the same problem (which i dont expect) I need a quick way back to a working situation.
